Overview. Assists with patient care activities and performs selected perioperative technical procedures under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Works cooperatively with other health care team members. Collaborates with RNs and other health care workers to facilitate the delivery of patient care while maintaining standards for perioperative nursing practice in the clinical setting. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, quality patient/family care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and surgical team. Performs procedures for patients after competency determined and provides technical services and support. Responsibilities. Assists in the care of the patient having surgery by functioning primarily in a scrubbing capacity. Qualifications. Surgical Tech Requirements:Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology. Certification required within first year of employment. Prefer two years successful experience. LPN Requirements:Education:Graduate of accredited nursing program. Experience:Experience in dementia care, skilled nursing, or long term care. License(s)/Certification(s):Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
