Job Summary:Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of coworkers in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds and equipment. This position will lead, direct, and mentor all maintenance technicians. They will hire, train, supervise, review and discipline employees in the maintenance department. The Supervisor will also ensure that all work ordered is completed on time and according to quality standards and that spending on supplies used to complete maintenance remains within budgetary constraints. Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead maintenance personnel.
Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance technicians through hands on training
Assists with maintaining systems for monitoring and tracking service requests preventative maintenance work performed, compliance with safety requirements, supplies and parts inventories, purchases, and turn-key operations.
Ensure staff productivity.
Keeps time cards and other routine records.
Responsible for 24x7 plant maintenance including proper staffing and resource allocation to support production demands
Responsible to work with plant management to reduce downtime and improve efficiencies of plant, equipment and resources.
Review existing preventative maintenance tasks and ensure proper maintenance functions are performed.
Analyzes and assists in developing work methods, procedures and schedules
Monitors routine projects and initiates schedule changes as necessary to ensure expeditious and successful cost-effective completion of work.
Communicate with production operators and management on day-to-day maintenance issues
Assist in scheduling and coordinate repairs and projects done by contractors with Maintenance Planner
Works with maintenance coworkers and other departments to develop an effective, proactive team that works together to achieve company objectives.
Ensures adherence to company safety standards, policies and procedures. Insures maintenance staff correctly wears and uses safety equipment, as required. Also, insures that all safety inspections are completed as required and ensures adherence to company key control policies.
Interact with USDA
Understand and interpret company, industry, state and federal regulations
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
Perform other tasks as assigned
On-call duties to cover nights and week ends. Backup:
A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required:
2 years of supervisory experience
2-4 years of experience in Maintenance
Ability to lead others
Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow coworkers and vendors/contractors
Electrical, mechanical and plumbing knowledge
Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely
Knowledge of basic chemical usage and safety
Ability to work on a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in high elevations
Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
